    SUSTAINABILITY

Yesternight I touched on how most if not all of the morning routine content out there is complete bs simply because it is just not, sustainable. Most advice out there is really good, yes, for a rough month before you tire of it. It is difficult to keep up with a ten step skin care routine and hundred step morning routine especially as a woman simply because you will not feel the same every day. The hard part will be having to fight your moods and while it will build character, everyday is not it.

You are a woman. You are ever changing. Physically. Mentally. Spiritually. That's why most things don't last, you just outgrow them easily. Why? They lack sustainability.

You want longevity. You do not want to start working out and give up in a month, no,you want to do that for life. You do not want to only study during school nights . You do not want to do things for the short term.

How do we do this? We build realistic, sustainable, unbeatable systems into the life we are already living.

Into the life we are already living is the key word here.

I talked once on how it is easier to drop bad habits than implement new ones based on the energy it takes to make yourself do something versus holding yourself back . This is very similar.

Take it this way. Say your goals are

    • Lose weight
    • Get fit
    • Learn Dutch
    • Dress elegantly
    • Make friends.

You could implement new routines and systems to hit the goal. You could start working out at 5 am and take an online dutch course anc pick your outfits night before. All good advice, yes. All lacking since maintaining longevity especially at the beginning is hard.

BUT if you choose to do the grocery shopping you already do in person and walk around the grocery store and take the long way home carrying your bags, you will probably get fit and lose some weight doing what you already do. If you take the stairs you'll be a little bit flexible, just the tiniest bit more fit. If you commit to commuting by foot absorbing sunlight everyday, you might just reach that goal- and it is sustainable. Very, sustainable.

Taking an online course os absolutely helpful but you already watch movies and if you watched movies in Dutch with native subtitles I promise you will learn some dutch. If you listen to dutch music you might just get it. Doing something you already do everyday anyway.

Yes pre picking an outfit the night before works BUT only having great outfits will save you so much time and is very sustainable. If your closet has the right basics and right layers you need three minutes to put something together, no???

SUSTAINABILITY is the name of the game. V
